Your things stay yours

Orbience makes software that runs on your own computer. We don’t track you, we don’t sell anything about you, and our products send data only when you ask them to.

Privacy policy for orbience.com, Orb and Motion Copilot · Last updated 20 October 2026

Who we are

Orbience makes Orb, a voice assistant for Windows, and Motion Copilot, an AI copilot inside Adobe After Effects. Questions about privacy: hello@orbience.com.

Google user data (Orb)

Orb can connect to your Google account so you can ask it to check your email, send an email, add a calendar event or upload a file to Drive. Connecting is optional, and you sign in on Google’s own page: Orb never sees your Google password.

What Orb accesses, and why

  • Gmail: reads your messages when you ask (“check my email”, “what did Sam say?”), and writes, replies, saves drafts and sends email with attachments that you ask for. Orb asks before every send.
  • Google Calendar: reads your events (“what’s on my calendar today?”) and adds the events you ask for. Orb asks before adding.
  • Google Drive: uploads the files you ask it to and creates a share link when you ask. Orb can only see the Drive files it created or uploaded, not the rest of your Drive. Orb asks before sharing.

How it’s handled

  • On your computer only. Orb talks to Google directly from your PC. Your Google data never goes to Orbience: we have no servers that receive it.
  • Stored on your PC, encrypted. Your Google sign-in is kept on your computer, encrypted with Windows’ own protection. Orb keeps the email addresses you’ve written to, on your PC, so it can match a misheard name.
  • Used only for what you ask. Orb uses your Google data only to do the task you asked for, in that moment.
  • AI only when you ask for it. Reading, sending and uploading work without any AI. If you ask Orb to write or reply to an email for you, the text needed for that one request goes to the AI service you chose (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini), under your own account with them, to produce your reply.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, use it to build profiles, or use it to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models. No person at Orbience reads it.

Limited Use. Orb’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access. Sign out in Orb’s control panel (Connections), which deletes the sign-in from your PC, or remove Orb at any time in your Google Account’s third-party access page. Uninstalling Orb deletes everything it kept.

Orb

Stays on your computer: your voice (Orb hears you and speaks on your PC; audio is never sent), settings, memory, diary, notes, reminders, conversations, dictation counts (never the words), a log for fixing problems, and the files it makes in your Orb folder. Meeting notes keep no audio.

Leaves your computer only when you ask: a request to the AI you use (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, through their official programs and your own account, with only what is needed, such as the text to fix or a picture of your screen when you ask about it); Google, as above; simple questions to information services (weather, currency, Wikipedia, a dictionary, news, sports scores, a speed test); app installs from Windows’ own catalogue; downloads you ask for; and update checks. The phone remote stays on your own Wi-Fi.

Private mode (“go private”): Orb doesn’t look at your screen or read your email, keeps nothing from the conversation and leaves what you say out of its log.

Motion Copilot

Your project stays yours. Motion Copilot works inside your open After Effects project on your computer.

The AI you choose. Your request, and what is needed to do it (details of your project, and frames it renders to check its own work), goes to the AI you pick: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Grok, or a provider with your own API key, under your own account. Optional services you add your own key for (such as stock media or voice) receive only the requests you make.

Your licence. To activate and check your licence, Motion Copilot sends our store, Freemius, your licence key and a device ID (a one-way code made from your computer’s Windows ID, so one licence fits one PC). A free trial asks for your name and email. “Email me product news” is off unless you tick it. Freemius handles purchases and payment as our seller; we never see your card details.

What Orbience receives

That’s all. We receive nothing from using Orb or Motion Copilot: not your voice, files, projects, messages, screen or Google data.

What we never do

Your choices and rights

Most of your data never leaves your computer, so you control it there: Orb’s control panel shows what it remembers and forgets what you ask; sign out of Google or AI services at any time; uninstalling removes what our products kept. For anything we hold (your emails, and your store details from Freemius), write to hello@orbience.com to see, correct or delete it. We keep it only as long as needed to support you and as the law requires.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. Questions or requests: hello@orbience.com.
